Cyberforce Comics

Cyberforce

Cyberforce is an Image Comics super-hero team created by artist Marc Silvestri and writer Eric Silvestri in 1992. Cuberforce are a team of mutants who had all at one point been captured by Cyberdata, an enormous corporation with ambitions of world-takeover. Cyberdata was run by brilliant scientists who had created advanced cybernetics technology and had employed this technology to create "Special Hazardous Operations Cyborg" or S.H.O.C.s. The captured mutants were all used in the experiments but escaped and banded together as Cyberforce to put an end to Cyberdatas plans.

The Darkness Comics

The Darkness

The Darkness is an ageless power dating back beyond human history. It is linked with the Angelus and the Witchblade. The Darkness is passed down a family line from father to son, leaving the previous user (and taking his life) as his first child is conceived. The power then manifests in the child on his 21st birthday. Darkness users can create anything they desire, even sentient beings, but anything they make will crumble to dust in the light. The Darkness is quite deadly, allowing the user to call forth darkling minions to aid them, and even survive gunshots. The power can also be used to maul and feed on people.

Gen 13 Comics

Gen 13

The Gen 13 teens were originally invited to take part in a government project, but when they learned that the project was actually a prison-like testing ground on "Gen-Active" teens, they made their escape, but not before they "manifested" superhuman powers, and they were labelled dangerous fugitives. Their only hope was to rely on each other to fight their foes and unveil the personal secrets that linked them to Team 7 and International Operations.

Spawn Comics

Spawn

Al Simmons, a CIA agent, was killed by his own boss, Jason Wynn, after witnessing his bosses "indiscretions". Simmons was sent to hell, where in a desperate attempt to see his wife one last time, he made a deal with the demon Malebolgia, and unwittingly, to become a "Hellspawn", a General in Hells Army. Spawn has tried to retain his own humanity while finding a way out of Malebolgias control and battling a variety of enemies, both supernatural and criminal.

The Maxx Comics

The Maxx

The Maxx follows the adventures of the titular hero in the real world and in an alternate reality, The Outback. In the real world the Maxx is a vagrant while in the Outback he is the protector of the Jungle Queen. The Jungle Queen is similar to the Maxx in that she also exists in the real world as Julie Winters, a freelance social worker who often bails the Maxx out of jail. While the Maxx is aware of the Outback, Julie is not, though it is integral to the story of both the Maxx and Julie.

Walking Dead Comics

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead is centered on Rick Grimes, a small-town police officer from Cynthiana, Kentucky, his family, and a number of other survivors who have banded together in order to survive after the world is overrun with zombies. As the series progresses, the characters become more developed, and their personalities shift under the stress of a zombie apocalypse. Fighting growing despair and sometimes each other, the group searches for a secure location which they can finally call home.

Warblade Comics

Warblade

Warblade is Reno Bryce, a green-haired artist. In his youth, Renos parents were killed by the alien Daemonites. Reno survived and swore vengeance, dedicating his life to the martial arts to avenge them. He was kidnapped by the organization known as Cyberdata, brain-washed and transformed in a member of their strike team, the S.H.O.C.s. During his time with the WildC.A.T.s, Reno fought Pike, a half human, half Kherubim assassin. During a Native American ritual, Pike had taken the drug peyote and had a vision of himself killing a WildC.A.T.s member, a goal he would dedicate the rest of his life to.

Wetworks Comics

Wetworks

Wetworks is a covert operations team, designated Team 7, led by Colonel Jackson Dane, who was a member of the original Team 7. In issue #1 of the series, Team 7 was sent on a (suicide) mission by International Operations, to enter a terrorist enclave and extract a biological agent. Once they reached the target, they found that someone had raided the enclave before them. While investigating, the team found several big transparent tubes containing some kind of golden fluid. At that moment, the explosives they were carrying were activated by remote control, displaying a ten-minute countdown. It was then the team knew they were double crossed.

Wilcats Comics

Wilcats

The First issue of WildC.A.T.s: Covert Action Teams, was published in 1992, it was Image founding partner Lees first work published by the newly-launched company. The Wildcats were the starting point for Lees menagerie of interconnected superhero creations which became the foundation of the Wildstorm Universe. The Wildcats comics, launched at the apex of a speculator-fuelled comics sales boom, was wildly popular at its inception, with wholesale sales to comic book stores above one million copies for early issues.

Witchblade Comics

Witchblade

Sara Pezzini, a tough-as-nails NYPD homicide detective comes into possession of the Witchblade, a supernatural,sentient artifact with immense destructive and protective powers. The weapon has bonded with various other women throughout history, including Cleopatraand Joan of Arc. Sara struggles to hone the awesome powers of the Witchblade and fend off those with a nefarious interest in it, especially entrepreneur Kenneth Irons. She also struggles to maintain a personal life.

Youngblood Comics

Youngblood

Young made its debut as a backup feature in the 1987 one-shot Megaton: Explosion before later appearing in its own ongoing series in 1992 as the flagship publication for Image Comics. Youngblood is a high-profile superteam sanctioned and overseen by the United States Government. The members of Youngblood include Shaft, a former FBI agent and archer whose bow uses magnets to propel its arrow instead of a string; Badrock, a teenager transformed into a living block of stone; Vogue, a Russian fashion model with purple-and-chalk-white skin; and Chapel, a government assassin.
